Comparison of the health system in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the period of time 2004-2014

The aim of the bachelor thesis is an analysis and comparison of health systems in the Czech and Slovak Republic in the period of time 2004-2014. The first part describes the models of health systems, the bodies of the health system and basic overview of both countries compared. The emphasis is on financing systems based on the total, public and private expenditure in relation to a share of GDP, absolute expression etc. Furthermore, the countries are also compared with particular selected demographic indicators. This thesis used the method of cost efficiency and the Euro Health Consumer Index 2014, which together contribute to a perspective on the health system's ffectiveness and they are used as an answer of the question whether the Czech health care system is more efficient or not. Work summarizes how the country manages funds on health care and how it is subsequently reflected in health systems.

Analysis of inpatient care financing in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis "Analysis of financing of inpatient care in the Czech Republic" focuses on the inpatient treatment and its funding. It provides an overview of facilities for inpatient care, tries to acquaint the reader with the functioning of the hospital financing mechanism and introduce different principles of inpatient health care financing in hospitals in selected region Vysočina. The statistical indicators, costs and revenues of hospitals in Vysočina are analysed and compared with other regions in the country. Data for analysis are gathered mainly from annual reports of hospitals, their financial statements and from websites ČSÚ and ÚZIS.

ANALYSIS OF SELECTED MODELS OF FINANCING HEALTH CARE

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze models of financing health care and compare the systems of health care. Rising health care costs, increasing labour costs for higher payments to health care system have been discussed whether the funding of ongoing health care system is sustainable. The theoretical part focuses on the existing models of health care and mechanisms, under which systems of health care are structured. The analytical work will discuss models used in Great Britain, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland. These systems are among a few basic models, which can be found principles of behaviour, which may be recommendation and advice to other systems of health care. Firstly thesis shows the mechanisms and principles of individual models. Further, it shows financing of these models and associated advantages and shortages of the systems. Then these models will be compared with the system of health care in the Czech Republic. Finally, the possible alternatives will be presented, which can be inspiration for Czech health care system for its further development and possible reform health care financing in the Czech Republic.

Imbalance in financing of bed care in the Czech Republic and its impacts

This master thesis deals with the question of medical treatment financing focusing mainly on analysis of health insurance companies reimbursement rates and their comparison with costs of aftercare beds. Secondary goal of the thesis is comparison of acute care beds costs and aftercare beds costs. The opening chapter discusses relationships between economics and health service and describes structure of health care funding compared to insurace companies financing strategies. Payment mechanism mostly used in the aftercare field is the pay-per-day system, this mechanism is therefore later explained in detail including particular effects on after care beds financing. The second part of the thesis compares insurance reimbursement rates with real costs of one particular facility. The analysis proves that health insurance companies reimbursement rates are wrongly set and reimbursement legislation is being violated.

Transformace regionálních nemocnic - ozdravný krok pro české zdravotnictví?

Předkládaná bakalářská práce pojednává o transformaci krajských nemocnic z příspěvkových organizací na akciové společnosti v České republice po roce 2003. V její úvodní části je diskutován ekonomický problém měkkého rozpočtového omezení a jeho podstata. První kapitola se věnuje vhodným právním formám nemocnic a uvádí nástin jejich silných a slabých stránek ve vzájemném srovnání. Dále je zde prezentován přístup managementu v jednotlivých právních formách nemocnic k deficitnímu hospodaření souvisejícímu s projevem syndromu měkkého rozpočtového omezení. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na vývoj transformačních tendencí krajských nemocnic v ČR, který byl do značné míry ovlivněn legislativními kroky tuzemských zákonodárců. Samotná analýza této části spočívá ve snaze o potvrzení či naopak vyvrácení různých předpokládaných negativních dopadů transformace na různé subjekty vystupující ve vztahu k nemocničnímu zařízení, které byly prezentovány kritiky transformace. V závěru práce je představen privátní model poskytování zdravotní péče a nastíněny jeho možné dopady.
